Short Bio:
I am Senior Scientist and Thematic Coordinator at the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Center for Technology Experience, heading the research field “Human-centered Automation and Assistance”. I was also post-doctoral researcher at Alpen-Adria University Klagenfurt as part of the ATHENA CD-Lab and a lecturer at Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien). Until End of 2015 I was Key Researcher and Area Manager at the Telecommunications Research CenterVienna (FTW), Department of User-centered Interaction, Services, and Systems Quality. As regards higher education, I hold an Msc. in Telematics (TU-Graz), a PhD in Informatics (TU-Vienna), an MBA (Open University, UK) and an MSc. in International and Finance Management (Open University, UK). In addition, I hold various certificates on Machine Learning (Stanford), Big Data Engineering (Yandex) and Data Science (John Hopkins).
Among others, I have lead FTW´s research projects (GRACE, ACE, ACE 2.0, ACE 3) on Quality-of-Experience assessment and monitoring of broadband services in wireless and wireline networks, conducted together with industry partners such as A1 Telekom Austria, Telekom Austria Group, Kapsch CarrierCom and Vodafone Group.
Furthermore, I am actively involved in various QoE- and UX-related EU projects and networking activities, including Shotpros (H2020), METICOS (H2020), Optiband (FP7), CELTIC QuEEN and COST Actions IC1003 Qualinet and IC1304 ACROSS (as MC member), as well as the organization of various QoE-related workshops and events (e.g. OC of GmSys 2023, Special Session Chair for QoMEX 2013, Organizer of PQS 2013, QoENAM 2014, general chair of QoE-FI 2016, etc.). Being an active member of ACM and IEEE, I am (co-)author of more than 150 publications in the areas of Quality of Experience, Service Quality, HCI and Pervasive Computing.
